Employee Highlight

Inman Campbell attended Appalachian State University and received a degree in Recreation Management with a Concentration in Commercial Recreation and Tourism. He is the co-owner and general manager of Blackbeard Scuba.  Inman is also a licensed

USCG Captain, Scuba Instructor & a Course Director in NAUI & Instructor Trainer in NASE. He is a Technical Instructor through TDI, as well. Additionally, Inman is a Lifeguarding/Waterfront Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Blood-borne Pathogens Instructor, CPR-AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor, and Oxygen Administration Instructor.

Alexander Kintner attended College of Charleston where he obtained his undergraduate degree.  After graduation, Alex attended law school and is a practicing attorney in Brunswick County, NC.  He is co-owner of Blackbeard Scuba.  An avid sailor, Alex focuses primarily on the business operation and marketing for Blackbeard.

Rob started out on "borrowed" gear in 1977,  becoming certified by NAUI in 1981. Rob is personally certified through Full Cave, Tri Mix and Rebreather, and holds Instructor Certifications from NAUI, SDI, TDI, ERDI and DAN. Additionally, Rob maintains a number of manufacturer certifications for the repair and maintenance of dive gear. 

Always learning, he is currently taking the Nautical Archaeology Society training to better understand the procedures being used in documenting the Battle for the Atlantic.

 

Ken Oots

Employee Highlight

 

Ken graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a Political Science degree after serving on active duty in the US Navy.  While at UNCW, he earned his NAUI Instructor certification at East Carolina University.  Ken has been a NAUI Instructor for over twenty years and has held instructor certifications for the YMCA and Confederation Mondiale Des Activities Subaquatiques (CMOS).  Ken has also held Adjunct Faculty status at UNC-WIlmington while teaching for the Department of Environmental Sciences research diving program, and was a qualified AAUS diver.  Ken has been an NSS-CDS Cave certified cave diver since 2006.

Stetson Kleinmann started diving as an open water student with Blackbeard Scuba in 2016. He is a graduate of the Cape Fear Community College Marine Technology program. His favorite thing about diving is his ever growing seashell collection.

Keith Pickens

Intern

Keith is a graduate of the Cape Fear Community College Marine Technology program. Keith started Scuba diving in 2017 and immediately fell in love. He plans on continuing his certifications through Blackbeard's intern program and is on his way to becoming Blackbeard's very own gear technician.
